Zalmi clinch last-over thriller against Pindiz

LAHORE: Peshawar Zalmi kicked off their Pakistan Super League 2026 campaign with a dramatic five-wicket victory over debutants Rawalpindi Pindiz in a high-scoring encounter at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

After winning the toss, Rawalpindi Pindiz opted to bat first and delivered an impressive total of 214 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by strong top-order performances, with consistent stroke play and effective boundary hitting putting the Zalmi bowlers under pressure.

In response, Peshawar Zalmi executed a commanding chase, reaching 218 for 5 in 19.1 overs, completing the target with five balls to spare. The chase ranks among the highest successful run pursuits at the venue in PSL history, underlining the batting-friendly conditions and Zalmi’s depth in the lineup.
