ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s leading cellular operator Jazz has pushed through a steep average tariff increase of 15.5% across its Top 15 hybrid bundles during Fiscal Year 2026, according to official pricing data reviewed by BeNewz in a move that piles fresh financial pressure on millions of prepaid and hybrid subscribers already grappling with rising living costs.
The data shows that between June 2025 and June 2026, nearly every flagship bundle — from the premium “Monthly X Plus” to the budget-friendly “3 Day-Max Offer” — saw multiple price hikes, in some cases twice within a single fiscal year, with little to no proportional increase in value for the most vulnerable users.
Background: A Pattern of Repeated, Silent Hikes
Industry watchers note that Jazz’s pricing revisions were not one-off adjustments but came in staggered waves — hitting subscribers in September, December, and again in March and June — a pattern that critics say is designed to avoid the public backlash a single, larger hike would trigger.
The steepest jumps came in the Monthly Premium bundle (+22%), followed closely by Insane Vibe, Monthly Super Duper, Monthly Freedom, and the emergency-relief-oriented 3 Day-Max Offer, each rising by 20–21%. Even the ultra-low-cost 3 Day-Max Offer, often relied upon by daily-wage earners and low-income users for bare-minimum connectivity, jumped from Rs. 99 to Rs. 120 — a 21% increase that disproportionately affects Pakistan’s most price-sensitive consumer segment.
Weekly bundles, typically used by students and low-income households who cannot afford monthly commitments, were not spared either. Weekly Super Max and Super Woman Bundle both rose 17%, undercutting the narrative that “smaller” weekly packages offer a cheaper buffer against inflation.
Only the We5 Fantastic shareable bundle held steady at Rs. 5,999 with 0% increase — though analysts point out this bundle was only introduced in March 2026, meaning it has not yet been tested by a full fiscal cycle of hikes like the rest.

Reaction on social media platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook has been largely critical, with users describing the incremental hikes as “death by a thousand cuts” — a strategy that keeps individual price bumps looking small (often just Rs. 40–100) while compounding into double-digit percentage increases over the year. Several users flagged that data-heavy bundles marketed as “value packs” now cost nearly 20% more for the same or marginally improved data allowance, calling the timing “insensitive” given Pakistan’s broader cost-of-living crisis.
