LAHORE: The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) has opened applications for a range of senior and mid-level positions on a purely contract basis, offering competitive lump-sum salary packages for qualified professionals domiciled in Punjab.
According to the announcement, the initial appointment will be for one year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance. The recruitment drive includes high-profile advisory roles as well as managerial, technical, and support positions across key functional areas including academics, finance, quality assurance, and institutional development.
At the top tier, three Advisor/Consultant positions — in Monitoring & Evaluation, Academics, and Think Tank on Higher Education — offer a monthly salary of Rs. 500,000. These roles require a PhD or equivalent qualification along with extensive senior-level experience in higher education, policy formulation, or project management, with an age limit of up to 65 years.

Four Director General positions — covering Finance & Planning, Inspection & Evaluation, Human Resource Development & Innovation, and Quality Assurance — carry a monthly package of Rs. 350,000. Candidates are required to have advanced qualifications with substantial relevant experience, also with an upper age limit of 65 years.
Mid-tier positions include Directors in Budget & Finance, Training & Linkages, and Curriculum & Academics, offering Rs. 250,000 per month. These posts require at least an MPhil/MS or equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience, and an age limit of 50 years.
The Commission has also invited applications for Deputy Director roles in Internal Audit, Research & Development, and Administration/HR at Rs. 175,000 per month, as well as Assistant Director positions in Innovation & Commercialization, Curriculum, and Quality Assurance at Rs. 125,000 per month. The age limits for these categories are 50 and 40 years respectively.
In addition, nine Research Assistant and two Personal Assistant positions are available at a monthly salary of Rs. 75,000, with an age limit of 40 years.
Applicants are required to submit their applications online through the official portal at https://jobs.punjabhec.gov.pk by May 5, 2026. A non-refundable processing fee applies, ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 2,000 depending on the job category, payable to The Bank of Punjab.
The application process requires uploading a detailed CV, academic credentials, experience certificates, CNIC, and other supporting documents. Applications submitted via post, email, or hand will not be entertained. Government employees must apply through proper channels.
PHEC has clarified that only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews, and no travel or daily allowance (TA/DA) will be provided. The commission also reserves the right to modify the number of posts or cancel the recruitment process at any stage.
The recruitment initiative is aimed at strengthening the commission’s capacity in academic governance, quality assurance, financial management, innovation, and research to enhance the standards of higher education across Punjab, according to the announcement.
