ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) temporarily sealed the Blue Area branch of Tehzeeb Bakers in Islamabad during an enforcement action linked to alleged tax compliance and invoicing irregularities, according to media reports and officials familiar with the matter.
The action was reportedly taken as part of the FBR’s ongoing nationwide crackdown on retailers and businesses over violations related to digital invoicing systems, point-of-sale (POS) integration, and sales tax documentation requirements.
Sources said the Islamabad outlet was sealed after authorities identified issues concerning tax compliance procedures and invoice verification. The enforcement operation was limited to the Blue Area branch and did not affect the bakery chain’s operations in other cities, including Rawalpindi and Lahore.
Tehzeeb Bakers, one of Pakistan’s most recognized bakery chains, continues to operate multiple outlets nationwide, while its official online platforms and delivery services remain active. No broader closure order has been issued against the company.
The development sparked confusion on social media after some users incorrectly claimed that branches in Lahore had also been shut down. However, reports indicate that the FBR action specifically targeted the Blue Area outlet
