Lahore Board’s Amina Mahboob tops in Punjab

LAHORE: The nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) across Punjab announced their position holders on Wednesday, a day ahead of the official declaration of the SSC (Matric) Annual Examination 2026 results, which will be released simultaneously by all boards on Thursday.
Amina Mahboob of The Educators High School for Girls, Pattoki, Kasur, emerged as the overall topper of Punjab, securing the highest score in the province with 1,192 marks out of 1,200 under the BISE Lahore. Around 285,000 students had appeared in the Lahore Board’s Matric examinations this year.
Across the other Punjab boards, the following students claimed the top overall positions:
- BISE Gujranwala: Adeena Rashid of Future Vision Secondary School for Girls, Shaheenabad, and Sadiqa Almas of A+ School System for Girls, Gujranwala Cantt, jointly secured first position, each scoring 1,190 marks out of 1,200.
- BISE Faisalabad: Umna Salahuddin of The City Grammar School (Girls Wing), New Civil Lines, topped with 1,191 marks, followed by Ramin Fatima with 1,190 marks and Muhammad Raif Abdul Ahad with 1,189 marks.
- BISE Multan: Mehreen Rasool secured the overall first position with 1,190 marks, while Faiqa Mehboob took second place with 1,188 marks.
- BISE Sargodha: Nabeel Ahmad Kazmi topped the board with 1,188 marks, while Hadia Fatima and another candidate named Muhammad jointly took second place with 1,186 marks each.
- BISE Sahiwal: Munsaf Bashir and Abdullah Nasir jointly topped the board with 1,191 marks each, while Rabeeta Ramzan took second place with 1,190 marks.
- BISE Bahawalpur: Abdul Haseeb of Government Abbasia Higher Secondary School Bahawalpur clinched first position with 1,186 marks, while Muzammil Bilal secured second with 1,184 marks.
- BISE Rawalpindi: Muhammad Manan Ehtesham, a student of a private school in Daultala, Gujar Khan, secured first position with 1,191 marks, followed by Zunaira Tahir with 1,180 marks.
- BISE DG Khan: Abdullah Saleem topped with an outstanding 1,191 marks, while Mair Mujtaba finished second with 1,190 marks, just one mark behind.
Female students once again dominated several boards’ merit lists, continuing a trend of strong academic performance by girls across Punjab. Position holders at each board will be honoured at prize distribution ceremonies, receiving certificates and cash awards for their achievements.
Students across Punjab can check their detailed Matric results on Thursday through their respective board websites, SMS service, or by downloading the official gazette, using their roll number.
