FBR announces major IRS reshuffle, Over 50 senior officers transferred

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has carried out a major reshuffle in the Inland Revenue Service (IRS), transferring and posting more than 50 senior officers from BS-19 to BS-22 in an effort to strengthen tax administration and improve operational efficiency across the country.

According to a notification issued by the Revenue Division on Friday, the transfers and postings have taken effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders. The changes cover key positions at the FBR Headquarters, Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), Large Taxpayers Offices (LTOs), Corporate Tax Offices (CTOs), and several specialized directorates.

Among the most significant appointments, Ms. Saadia Sadaf Gilani (BS-22) has been transferred from Chief Commissioner, Corporate Tax Office Lahore, to Member, Federal Board of Revenue Headquarters, Islamabad.

Ms. Tehmina Aamer (BS-22) has been appointed Director General, Inland Revenue Service Academy, Lahore. She will assume charge following the retirement of Syed Nadeem Hussain Rizvi on August 6, 2026.

In another key move, Ms. Amina Hassan (BS-21) has been transferred from Chief Commissioner, Regional Tax Office Rawalpindi, to Director General, Directorate General of Anti-Benami Initiative, Islamabad, with her station designated at Lahore.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nabila Faran Baig (BS-21) has been posted as Chief Commissioner, Corporate Tax Office Islamabad.

The reshuffle also includes the transfer and posting of numerous Chief Commissioners, Directors General, Commissioners, and senior IRS officers in major tax formations across Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Hyderabad, and Sargodha. Several officers have additionally been entrusted with acting or concurrent charges to ensure administrative continuity.

The notification encompasses appointments within the FBR Headquarters as well as specialized wings and directorates, including Internal Audit, Broadening of Tax Base (BTB), Information Technology and Digital Transformation (IT&DT), Legal, and appellate formations.

The FBR has directed all transferred officers to immediately submit charge relinquishment and assumption reports to the Board for official record. It also clarified that officers currently receiving performance allowances will continue to draw those allowances at their new places of posting in accordance with existing rules.

Officials said the large-scale administrative reshuffle is aimed at bringing fresh leadership to key tax formations, improving institutional performance, and enhancing revenue collection and enforcement across the Inland Revenue Service.
