ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be conducted on August 15, 2026, across the country.
In a public notice issued on Tuesday, the council confirmed that the MDCAT 2025 curriculum and syllabus would remain applicable for the 2026 examination cycle. The announcement was issued by the PMDC Examination Department from its headquarters in Islamabad.

The council advised students and educational institutions to regularly visit the official PMDC website for updates regarding registration schedules, examination centres, and other admission-related details.
MDCAT is a mandatory entrance examination for students seeking admission to public and private medical and dental colleges in Pakistan. Thousands of candidates appear in the test every year to compete for limited seats in MBBS and BDS programmes nationwide.
The decision to retain the existing syllabus is expected to provide clarity and continuity for students preparing for the examination. Education experts say early confirmation of the test date and syllabus allows candidates to better plan their academic preparation.
Over the past few years, MDCAT has remained under close public and judicial scrutiny due to concerns related to paper leaks, examination transparency, and uniform testing standards across provinces. PMDC has stated that it is working to improve examination monitoring and maintain merit-based admissions procedures.
Medical education remains one of the most competitive academic sectors in Pakistan, with increasing demand for admissions amid limited institutional capacity. Officials say further details regarding MDCAT 2026 registration and guidelines will be announced in the coming weeks through official channels.
