FBISE matric exams begin tomorrow nationwide

–Federal Board SSC annual exams start March 31 with strict rules

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education will begin its Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part I and Part II annual examinations 2026 across Pakistan from Tuesday, March 31, with thousands of students set to appear.

According to the official date sheet released on February 24, written examinations for Class 9 and Class 10 will continue until early May, followed by practical exams starting May 7. Morning sessions will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon, while evening sessions are scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Students have been instructed to reach examination centres by 8:30 AM for morning papers and 2:00 PM for evening sessions. Authorities have imposed strict rules, banning mobile phones, smartwatches, and all electronic devices داخل exam halls to ensure transparency and discipline.

The examination schedule includes compulsory subjects such as English, Urdu, and Pakistan Studies/Islamiyat, along with elective subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and Computer Science for both science and humanities groups.

The exams are taking place amid recent weather disruptions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, where heavy rains and strong winds caused damage in several areas. However, officials confirmed that no major disruptions have been reported at examination centres داخل the country.

Due to ongoing regional security concerns, the board has postponed exams at selected overseas centres in Iran, Kuwait, the UAE, and Bahrain. All other domestic and international centres will proceed according to the announced schedule.

FBISE officials have advised students to remain calm, revise thoroughly, and follow all examination guidelines. Roll number slips for private candidates have already been uploaded on the official board website.

Education experts say matriculation exams remain a critical milestone for students, as their results play a key role in determining future academic pathways. Ensuring smooth conduct and fairness in these exams remains a priority for the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education amid evolving academic and administrative challenges.
