ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik on Wednesday met with representatives of the Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP) and the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) to review industry proposals aimed at strengthening and modernizing Pakistan’s petroleum supply chain.
During the meeting, industry leaders shared a detailed set of recommendations to enhance efficiency, transparency and resilience across the petroleum value chain. The Minister welcomed the input, reaffirming the government’s commitment to sector-wide reforms.
“We value the input of all stakeholders,” Ali Pervaiz Malik said. “I have encouraged the regulator to address the critical areas identified by the industry. Together, we will work to transform the petroleum sector for the benefit of consumers, businesses and the national economy.”
Highlighting the government’s broader policy direction, the Minister noted that Pakistan is moving rapidly toward digitalization. “The petroleum supply chain must also evolve. Digitalization is essential for stronger oversight, improved service delivery and long-term sustainability,” he added.
Representatives from OCAC and OMAP appreciated the Minister’s initiative to directly engage with industry leadership. They termed the meeting a “positive and welcome step,” noting that the government’s willingness to consult stakeholders reflects a shift toward more inclusive and responsive policy-making.
