DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the latest Men’s T20I and ODI player rankings, with Indian players continuing to dominate across categories. Pakistani players displayed mixed fortunes, registering both progress and decline in various divisions.
T20I Batters Ranking
India’s Abhishek Sharma retained his No. 1 position among T20I batters, while Sri Lanka’s Kusal Perera moved up two spots to seventh place. South Africa’s Dewald Brevis climbed two positions to reach 12th, and Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan jumped to the 11th spot following consistent performances.
India’s Shubman Gill made significant progress, rising eight places to 22nd, while New Zealand’s Tim Robinson soared 18 places to 23rd in the updated rankings.
T20I All-rounders and Bowlers
Pakistan’s Saim Ayub continued to lead the T20I all-rounders’ chart, marking an important achievement for the national side.
Among bowlers, India’s Varun Chakravarthy remained at No. 1, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan moved up one spot to second place. New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy advanced six places to third, and Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed held steady at No. 8.
Pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi also improved his position, climbing to 13th in the T20I bowling rankings.
ODI Batters Ranking
In the latest ODI batters list, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma maintained his top position, while Virat Kohli climbed one spot to fifth. Pakistan’s Babar Azam slipped two places to seventh after recent performances.
Australia’s Travis Head and New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra both rose two places, ranking 11th and 12th respectively. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock advanced four places to 15th.
Pakistan’s all-rounder and T20I captain Salman Ali Agha made an impressive jump of 14 places to reach 16th — his career-best ranking.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan dropped four places to 27th, while opener Fakhar Zaman fell five positions to 31st. Young batter Saim Ayub showed remarkable progress, improving 18 places to 36th position.
ODI Bowlers Ranking
Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retained his No. 1 ranking among ODI bowlers. England’s Jofra Archer moved up one position to second, and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga gained a spot to reach ninth.
Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi slipped one place to 16th, while Abrar Ahmed jumped 18 places to 20th — one of the biggest improvements of the week. Sri Lanka’s Keith Fletcher and Asitha Fernando each advanced six spots to 25th and 26th, respectively.
Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf climbed two spots to 29th, and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz gained five positions to 65th. South Africa’s Nandre Burger recorded the week’s most notable leap, surging 46 places to 73rd.
According to the ICC, Pakistan’s overall performance has shown steady improvement, particularly in bowling, though batting consistency remains an area of concern. Cricket analysts believe the upcoming international series will offer Pakistan a strong opportunity to regain ground in global ranking.
