JI dharna & negotiation are running parallel

Rawalpindi/Islamabad: Jamaat-e-Islami staged dharna at Liaqat Bagha not only entered the second day of its protest but the JI has also accepted the government’s request to negotiate on the issues.

The sit-in by Jamaat-e-Islami against inflation and increased electricity bills continues for the second day at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi.

In parallel, Jamaat-e-Islami has accepted the government’s offer for negotiations. A committee comprising the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami will negotiate with the government.

A large number of participants are present at the sit-in, with the administration making special arrangements for breakfast. Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman is expected to address a press conference at 11 o’clock to outline the next course of action.

Due to the sit-in, Murree Road from Murree Hassan to Committee Chowk is completely closed. The Metro Bus Service is also suspended for the second day, causing severe inconvenience to citizens. The suspension is particularly affecting passengers traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.

According to sources, the government has formed a committee for negotiations, which includes Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Amir Muqam. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has stated that the sit-in will continue until their demands are met.

Jamaat-e-Islami workers are gathering again at Liaquat Bagh Chowk on Murree Road, with a significant number of elderly people joining the young participants who spent the night on the road. The entrance to Murree Road has been blocked with containers, and a heavy contingent of police is present for the security of the sit-in.

A large number of participants are present at Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in at Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi. The administration of the sit-in has made special arrangements for breakfast for the participants.

Earlier, Hafiz Naeem while addressing the participants of Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in against inflation and increased electricity bills announced that the sit-in will continue until their demands are met.

Due to Jamaat-e-Islami’s sit-in, Murree Road from Murree Hassan to Committee Chowk is completely closed. The Metro Bus Service is also suspended for the second day, causing severe inconvenience to the citizens.

Yesterday, the Metro Bus Administration suspended the service from Saddar to Faizabad. The suspension of the Metro Bus Service is causing difficulties for passengers traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad.
