ISLAMABAD: Quaid-i-Azam University has waived the HEC Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) requirement for the current BS admissions cycle, allowing all eligible applicants to apply regardless of whether they appeared in or qualified the test.
Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) has abolished the requirement for the Higher Education Commission’s Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) for admissions to its BS programmes in the current Fall 2026 admissions cycle.
The move comes as the university is understood to be facing lower-than-required applications in some academic departments for the Fall 2026 intake, prompting the administration to widen the pool of eligible candidates. However, QAU has not officially linked the waiver to admission shortfalls.
According to the university’s announcement, all prospective candidates are now eligible to apply for undergraduate admissions regardless of whether they appeared in the HEC USAT examination.
The university also clarified that applicants who appeared in the USAT but did not qualify are still eligible to apply. All other admission requirements and programme-specific eligibility criteria under the Quaid-i-Azam University Admission Policy will remain unchanged.
The decision significantly expands eligibility for undergraduate admissions by removing the mandatory USAT requirement for the current admission cycle.
