ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and dry weather across most parts of the country in the three days with chances of isolated rain-wind and thunderstorms in northern regions.

According to the latest weather outlook, most plain areas are expected to remain under intense heat during the five-day period. However, occasional rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms may occur in parts of Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Central Punjab, and North Balochistan.

On Friday, isolated thunderstorms are likely in North Balochistan, Central Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining areas.

The weather is expected to remain largely hot and dry on Saturday and Sunday, although Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir may continue to receive isolated rain and thunderstorm activity.

From Monday onward, most parts of the country are likely to stay dry, with only Gilgit Baltistan expected to witness isolated rain-wind thunderstorms. Similar conditions are forecast for Tuesday, when light thunderstorm activity may again develop in Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.

The PMD has advised citizens, particularly in plain areas, to take precautionary measures against heat, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours.
