ISLAMABAD: The Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Islamabad, has intercepted six non-duty-paid vehicles and a large consignment of foreign-origin cloth in a series of anti-smuggling operations carried out during the last week of July 2026.
According to a press release issued by Customs Enforcement, the operations were carried out by dedicated anti-smuggling squads acting on intelligence inputs. The seized vehicles include a Daihatsu Mira (2011 model), two Suzuki Alto units (2018 and 2015 models), a Toyota Surf (1990 model), a Toyota Vitz (2003 model), and a Toyota Prius (2011 model).
In addition to the vehicles, officials also recovered a large quantity of smuggled foreign-origin cloth, along with one offending vehicle used in the smuggling activity.
Officials said the cumulative estimated value of the seized and detained goods and vehicles exceeds Rs26.5 million, describing the operation as a significant blow to smuggling networks active in the region.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy against smuggling, Customs Enforcement Islamabad said it would continue to conduct intelligence-driven operations in close coordination with other federal and provincial law enforcement agencies. The department maintained that such sustained enforcement efforts are essential to safeguarding Pakistan’s national economy, protecting local industry, and ensuring the broader well-being of society.
