
In the recently inducted cabinet members of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, several members have been reshuffled, with some experiencing promotions while others face demotions. Only time will tell the full impact of these changes. Notably, junior Finance Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has been elevated to a full minister and entrusted with the Petroleum Ministry.
Similarly, Musadik Malik, who was initially considered for removal from the cabinet, has managed to retain his position but has been reassigned to the Ministry of Climate Change. This shift marks a demotion for him, as he previously held the Petroleum portfolio.
The portfolios of the newly appointed federal cabinet members have been officially announced. Hanif Abbasi has been assigned the Ministry of Railways, while Mustafa Kamal will serve as the Federal Minister for Health. Ali Pervaiz Malik has been entrusted with the Ministry of Petroleum.
In a detailed announcement, it was revealed that Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has been given the portfolio of Parliamentary Affairs, whereas Khalid Hussain Magsi will oversee the Ministry of Science and Technology.
According to reports, Muhammad Munir Wattoo will be responsible for Water Resources, while Aurangzeb Khichi will manage the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture. Muhammad Junaid Anwar has been appointed as the Minister for Maritime Affairs, and Raza Hayat Harraj will head the Ministry of Defense Production. Additionally, Sardar Yousaf has been assigned the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The official notification states that Shaza Fatima will serve as the Minister of State for Information Technology, and Rana Mubashir Iqbal will lead the Public Affairs Unit. Meanwhile, Mustafa Kamal has been confirmed as the Federal Minister for Health.
Further details reveal that Malik Rashid Ahmed will oversee the Ministry of National Food Security, Abdul Rehman Kanju will take charge as the Minister of State for Energy, and Aqeel Malik will serve as the Minister of State for Law and Justice. Bilal Azhar Kayani has been assigned the Ministry of Railways, while Kheel Das will handle Minority Affairs. Aun Saqlain has been appointed as the Minister of State for Overseas Affairs.
As per the notification, Mukhtar Ahmed Bhurt has been given the Health Ministry, Talal Chaudhry will be responsible for the Interior Ministry, and Wajiha Qamar has been appointed as the Minister of State for Education.
The report also highlights that Khawaja Asif will now retain only the portfolio of the Ministry of Defense. Azam Nazeer Tarar has been designated as the Minister for Law, Justice, and Human Rights, while Abdul Aleem Khan will serve as the Federal Minister for Communications. Musadik Malik has been entrusted with the Ministry of Climate Change, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui will oversee the Ministry of Education, and Chaudhry Salik has been appointed as the Minister for Overseas Affairs.
Additionally, it has been reported that Rana Tanveer will now exclusively handle the Ministry of National Food Security, while Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has been appointed as the Federal Minister for the Board of Investment.
According to the official notification, the portfolios of special assistants and advisors will be announced separately. Furthermore, due to their unavailability at the oath-taking ceremony, three ministers have yet to take their oaths.
Notably, the head of the IPC and Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has decided to relinquish two of his three ministerial portfolios. He has stepped down from the Privatization and Investment Board ministries, opting to retain only the Ministry of Communications.
