ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) will conduct the nationwide Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) tomorrow, Sunday, October 26, 2025. A total of 140,129 candidates have registered for the examination, vying for approximately 22,000 seats in public and private medical and dental colleges across the country.

According to PM&DC, 32 examination centers have been established nationwide, including in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, and Muzaffarabad. For the first time, an international examination center has also been set up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to facilitate overseas Pakistani students.

The council said strict security measures have been implemented at all centers, with monitoring teams and invigilators deployed in coordination with provincial authorities. Candidates will be allowed to enter the centers only after biometric verification to ensure transparency and prevent impersonation.

Last year, around 185,000 students appeared for MDCAT 2024, with an overall pass rate of 47%. While the number of candidates has slightly declined this year, PM&DC officials said the exam structure and syllabus remain aligned with international standards to maintain academic integrity.

A senior official from the Ministry of Health stated that MDCAT 2025 results will be announced within two weeks of the test, after which the provincial admission process will begin. This year’s admissions will be conducted entirely through a digital merit-based system aimed at ensuring transparency and minimizing external influence.

According to PM&DC, the MDCAT serves as a critical gateway for future medical professionals in Pakistan, helping uphold the standards of medical education and professional competency across the healthcare sector.
