Leghari inaugrates fast charging station in Islamabad

Federal Minister for Power, Awais Khan Leghari, inaugurated Pakistan’s first-ever 120 KW fast-charging station, developed by GoGreen Avenue. The event, held in Islamabad, marked a significant milestone in the country’s transition towards sustainable energy. As part of the Ministry of Energy’s broader efforts to promote green mobility and energy-efficient solutions, this initiative represents a crucial step toward a cleaner future.

In his address, Minister Leghari reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustainability, emphasizing the transformative role of initiatives like GoGreen Avenue’s fast-charging station in reshaping Pakistan’s energy and transportation sectors.

He underscored the government’s determination to lead the nation into a new era of clean energy, highlighting that the successful launch of this station reflects Pakistan’s dedication to reducing carbon emissions and promoting electric mobility.

As part of this commitment, the Minister announced a significant reduction in the price of electric charging units, lowering the cost from Rs 71 to 39. This move aims to make electric mobility more affordable and accessible to the public, further encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly transportation.

Leghari also praised the collaboration between the public and private sectors, recognizing its vital role in advancing green energy initiatives. He emphasized that such partnerships are essential in achieving Pakistan’s environmental goals and reiterated the government’s continued support for projects and policies that promote sustainability.

Concluding his remarks, he described the launch of this fast-charging station as a landmark achievement in the nation’s journey toward a sustainable energy infrastructure.
