The federal government has appointed Rashed Langrial of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) as the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
Sources revealed that the federal government has completed preparations for the new Chairman of FBR’s appointment, and approval for the appointment has been sought from the federal cabinet through the circulation of the summary.
For the above development, the establishment division has formal notification of this appointment of the new chairman of FBR.
Rashed Langrial, a Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS formally known as DMG) officer of Grade 21, is currently serving as the Secretary of the Power Division.
It should be noted that on July 31, Amjad Zubair Tawana, the current Chairman of FBR, decided to retire early. Sources stated that Amjad Zubair Tawana had given a two-week notice for early retirement. He was supposed to retire on February 25, 2025.
According to sources, Amjad Zubair Tawana had already sent a letter to the government regarding his early retirement. The contents of the letter stated his intention to resign from his position early and retire before the due date. Amjad Zubair Tawana had also verbally informed the Minister of State for Revenue, Ahad Cheema, about his decision.
The current Chairman of FBR, Amjad Zubair Tawana, has applied for early retirement.
